Push beyond basics with intensive, expert-guided courses.
Built for Safety. Designed for Real-World Readiness.
At Two Alpha Group, we offer a complete selection of structured firearms training courses designed to build safety, skill, and confidence at every level. From foundational knowledge to advanced defensive application, each program is taught with a strong emphasis on responsibility, control, and real-world readiness.
NC Concealed Carry
In this class, your instructor will give you a clear presentation of the laws regarding the use of deadly force for self-defense in North Carolina. You will also learn about the laws surrounding concealed carry and how to safely and accurately shoot a handgun. Your instructor is a former law enforcement officer and a retired combat veteran.
Please bring a handgun, 50 rounds of ammunition, and eye/ear protection. If you do not have a handgun, all required gear (gun, magazines, ammo, eye pro, and ear pro) can be rented for $20 ($30 for a 9mm gun).
Our classroom is located at 1500 Veterans Way in Sanford. After an 8-hour classroom portion (to meet NC requirements), we will travel to the range facility located at 284 Cletus Hall Road in Sanford.
This class meets or exceeds the state requirements for obtaining a Concealed Carry Handgun permit.
Beginner Handgun Training
An excellent foundation for folks who are afraid of or uncomfortable with a handgun but who want to be prepared for home defense or concealed carry. We discuss different kinds of handguns and how to choose the one that's right for you. We also focus safety, gun handling skills, and maintenance. Finally, we teach fundamental shooting techniques, and put those techniques into practice at the range.
A high-quality textbook is included. Also included is the rental fee for a gun, ammunition, eye protection and ear protection.
Defensive Skills
"You are your own first responder!"
This 3-part course focuses on the foundational skills that you need to effectively use a handgun for self defense.
Each class (Defensive Skills 1, 2, and 3) is taught entirely at the range, and each class builds on the previous one.
Class requirements:
- Beginner Handgun or similar skills.
- A semi-automatic handgun chambered in a defensively-appropriate caliber.
- 250 rounds of range ammo (FMJ or equivalent).
- 3 magazines.
- Outside-the-waistband holster recommended, but not required.
- Eye and Ear protection
- Closed toe shoes
- No low cut shirts or tank tops
Round count increases with each class. In Skills 1, we require outside-the-waistband holsters. In Skills 3 & 3, we train using concealment holsters.
Church Security Team Training
In this class, we will focus on how churches and synagogues can prepare for the unthinkable: an armed assault on a worship service, motivated by hate.
Whether your church is looking for continuing training for your volunteer armed security team, standing up a new team, or hoping to breathe new life into a team that's experiencing problems, we can help.
Developing a Home Defense Plan
Many people have bought a gun for home defense, but haven't given any more thought to what they might actually do during a home invasion.
In this class, we help you design a plan that is unique to your home and family. This non-shooting class is also a good start for folks who want to purchase a gun for home defense, but don't know what to buy.
Encountering the Mass Shooter Threat
In this class, aimed at school and community leaders, church security teams, and anyone interested in planning for and mitigating the threat of a mass shooter.
In this non-shooting class, we will look at the profile of a mass shooter and break down real-world historical shootings to gain insights for preparation. We will also see how having emergency medicine fundamentals can be an important bridge in the time between an incident and the arrival of professional medical services. Finally, we will dive into how to write an organizational safety plan that takes all these things into account, how to communicate that plan, and how to run drills.
Children's Firearm and Safety Fundamentals
How the next generation learns about firearms and firearm safety is pivotal to the future of gun ownership in America.
It can be an educational, welcoming experience that sparks a lifelong appreciation for firearms and the firearms community. Or it can be tainted by misinformation, fear and toxic bias.
Every gun owner has to answer one vital question: Who do you trust to teach your kids and your family about firearms and gun safety?
Many Americans have chosen to simply hide knowledge about guns from our youth. But building a keen appreciation and respect for firearms from an early age is key to helping the next generation embrace their Second Amendment rights and build a safety-focused approach to guns.
This course will teach you how to make the topic of firearms and safety a positive, welcoming and fun experience for the entire family. You will learn how to introduce your own family to the world of firearms ownership, the gun-safety rules, basic terminology and an understanding of how to properly use firearms.
Whether you are a parent or a grandparent, you will feel confident in your ability to educate and empower the next generation.

Clear Answers. Confident Training.
Do I need any prior experience with firearms to take a beginner class?
- No prior experience is required for either our Beginner Handgun or Concealed Carry classes.
- People who are brand new to guns will have better confidence and will get more out of Concealed Carry if they have already taken our Beginner Handgun class.
Is it normal to feel nervous before my first class?
- Absolutely that’s normal! No one will ask you questions you cannot answer, and no one will assume you know something you don’t. Questions are welcomed and encouraged.
- Also, if you are nervous about the written or live fire tests, don’t be - we will prepare you to succeed against those challenges. But, see the above question about Beginner Handgun, as that class will give you confidence in your ability to ace the live fire test.
How do you ensure the range is safe for all participants?
People and policies. Our certified and experienced Range Safety Officers (RSOs) know how to run a safe range, and you will have a clear view of our safety policies.
Do I need to bring my own gun, or is one provided?
- In our Beginner Handgun class, all firearms and ammunition are provided at no extra charge.
- In Concealed Carry, a gun, ammo, eye protection and hearing protection may be rented for $20 (for a .22 pistol) or $30 (for a 9mm pistol).
- In our Defensive Skills classes, we assume you have a gun, gear, and ammo, but please let us know if you need help with that.
What should I bring with me on the day of training?
- If you bring your own gun to Concealed Carry class, please bring 3 magazines that each hold 10 rounds (if you can). Otherwise, bring as many magazines as you have. You will also want to bring at least 30 rounds of ammunition. Please also bring eye and ear protection.
- We will give you time to get your lunch from a local restaurant or fast food, and bring it back to the training center to eat while we train.
What's the best next step after completing a beginner course?
- If you’ve taken Beginner Handgun, a natural next step is Concealed Carry. Beginner Handgun teaches how to shoot, while Concealed Carry teaches when to shoot.
- After that, a private shooting lesson can be a powerful tool to move you forward in your firearms journey, and our Defensive Skills classes are short classes which train real-world defensive skills, all on the range.
